Description plays a crucial role in determining the sales for a product and so we encourage our sellers to put in some efforts to make sure their product descriptions look great. Here are some of the key points to consider while writing your product descriptions:
- The first paragraph should define the product and the purpose of this product
- The second paragraph should be in bullet points describing the features of the product
- The conclusive paragraphs should include the package contents or what's in the box heading, just to let our curious customers know what they should expect from the package.
- Paragraph (<p>)
- Dot Points (<li>)
- Bold Text (<strong>)
- Break in paragraph (<br>)
Not Acceptable Tags
- URLs (<embed><iref><href>etc.)
- Heading Tags in Description(<h2> <h1>)
- Images (<img>)
- Tables (<table><tr>)
Using HTML to make your product description look great
Copying descriptions straight from your website or word file won't copy the HTML formatting and hence you will need to use HTML formatting to make sure those bullet points and bold headings are visible.
You can easily convert a normal text into HTML by using this website: https://wordtohtml.net/
Just paste your product description in the "Visual editor" (on the left) to convert to HTML and you will see the HTML formatted text in the "HTML Editor" (on the right).
Copy the HTML formatted description into our Excel template's "Description" column.
HTML formatting is easy to use but if you are still struggling, please follow this guide:
